Besides a quick Google type search, this TP Forum has information on many places.

Find the hamburger button, top left, near MENU. Find Asia, find Sri Lanka.

I was there a long time ago. Started with Colombo, visited Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Kandy.

September visit. Beginning of the month, according to Google search, might have less rain. Do a search for more free info.

  • Read up on Visa requirements for your particular passport.

Up to you.

Which is used more locally, electronic payment or cash? I don't know how much cash and small change I should prepare.

(Post 6.)

Just assume you will be needing some local currency to pay for cheap tourist junk and cheap meals.

Overseas, I do not use a card for everything I buy! But at my age, I am used to handling real cash money!

  • I believe the more you expose your credit cards overseas for cheap stuff- the more you risk unauthorized charges! (Charges you may not notice until back home looking at your statement!) Quick check with your computer will show that you can change most foreign money for some local currency.

Different folks - different strokes!

Hey,

I’m not sure how my post is breaking forum rules. I was simply suggesting a few areas based on my local knowledge, without any personal gain.

By the way, Sri Lanka is an island paradise, offering plenty of amazing experiences if you’re planning a visit in September.

That makes sense. To be on the safe side, it is more convenient to use cash during travels in other countries. This reminds me of previously registering for local travel mobile apps. Later, there were some expenses that I had no idea where they were spent at all. Although they weren't much, it is unpleasant not to know where the money was spent.
