What are Marplatenes?
I think it means people from Mar del Plata, a town in Argentina.
San Rafael and Mendoza´s Vineyards
From Mar del Plata we went to San Rafael in our van. The trip took us 13 hours stopping 3 times.
There are a lots of places where you can stop to relax a moment and refil gas to the van.
We arrived during the evening to the aparment that we had reserved a month before.
We looked for a place to have dinner, we went to Avellaneda Street, a place where there are a many places to eat and drink something.
Our principal idea as visit a few vineyards, for that the fist day in San Rafael we visited Bianchi, there we made a tour with a fantastic guide, whe explained us the process to make a tasti wine. Besides we enjoy a meal there seeing the field with grape plants. The meal was delicious, a tipical food from that place.
The next day during the morning we went to Cañon del Atuel, an amazing place where I discovered the biggest stones i have ever seen.
For the last day we had decided to go to Piattelly vineyard, for that we drove 3 hours in a beautiful road, the 143 and the 40 road.

Enjoy Sicily
TRANSPORT
I started my trip from the international airport at Buenos Aires, Ezeiza, Ministro Pistarini. Commonly you have to take a long flight to Rome or Milano airport at first. In my case, I traveled to Rome’s airport and then, I traveled by plane to Catania airport, in Sicily. It took a lot of hours, almost 15 hours in total. It is available to flight to Palermo too, another important city in Sicilia.
When I was arrived, one friend of mine picked me up and we went to Avola by car. It is possible to rent a car or use the public transportation to travel on the island.
ABOUT THE PLACE
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is popular because of his beautiful beaches, mountains, gastronomy and historical sites. Sicily is plenty of landscapes, including many ancient buildings, a lot of churches and the famous Mount Etna, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
I only visited four places on the Island, but there are too many attractions, beaches and places. It’s not possible to visit them in only one trip, maybe you must stay there for one month at least.
- Avola. A city located in province of Sicarusa. It’s plenty of beautiful beaches and has a nature reserve with one of the largest canyons in Europe called Cavagrande del Cassibile.
- Noto. It’s a small town famous because of his incredible buildings and churches with baroque style.
- Catania. Is a very important city in Sicily because of his history, culture and architecture. It’s also known as “the black city” due the colours of its buildings, blackened by the soot and ashes of the volcano Etna. You can visit the Mount Etna by yourself, but it’s not safe.
- Palermo. This city is the capital of Sicily. Has a lot of places that you have to visit. Palermo has too many Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque churches, palaces and buildings. I absolutely recommend you to go to enjoy a classical music night in the Teatro Massimo with the local orchestra.
GASTRONOMY
Sicilian is famous around the world for its cuisine, desserts and wines. I have been too lucky to try homemade food by the sicilian mother of my friend, but the median level of restaurants is really awesone!
Some dishes that I enjoyed too much: arancini (fried rice balls with cheese or meat), pasta alla norma (eggplants), pasta with seafood (every kind of fresh seafood), pasta with nero di sepia (squid ink), fried fresh fish. Also you must to try the cannoliI with pistacchio, one dessert that usually is accompanied with a very short and strong caffè after launch. There is a very popular type of wine called “Nero d’Avola” that is too much easy to drink. Be careful with that!
Sicily is really a very great combination between nature, history and gastronomy. I have the dream when I’m retired, I will go to live in Sicily to enjoy all that.

Puerto Madryn, Chubut
I went to Puerto Madryn with my family to see whales for the first time. We travelled by car from Mar del Plata and it took us around seven hours to reach Puerto Madryn and check into the hotel. The following day we woke up very early to see the sunrise on the beach, but before we had breakfast in the hotel.
After that great breakfast, we packed all the necessary things for our day and left the hotel. We drove for over an hour and a half in a really difficult gravel road, but it was such an adventure. On the way we saw a few guanacos crossing the road, they were so beautiful, but dangerous at the same time. You need to be very careful while driving, because they appear from nowhere.
After a few kilometers we arrived to El Doradillo. This incredible beach, doesn´t have sand on it, it´s entirely made of thousands off little rounded stones. The view was really impressive, we all took a few seconds to admire the whole natural picture.
After enjoying together a few mates on this incredible place, we went to Puerto Piramides, this place is recognized by their famous whale sightings from inside the sea. So we all take our tickets, and get into the next boat. The experience was amazing, in the deep blue ocean we found two giants’ whales, one was the mother, and the second one was the child. They were together all the time, and the little one seemed to be really curious, so it got closer and closer to our boat!! The boat had a photographer so you can relax and enjoy the activity without worrying to lose a great moment because you are trying to take a photo. If you are lucky you can see whales jumping and throwing water everywhere. Finally we returned to the coast and continue traveling.
In conclusion Puerto Madryn is a great destination if you like marine animals, beaches, and nature. The people are very kind and the food is amazing. It doesn´t matter the moment of the year, there is always a thing to watch and enjoy from whales swimming near the coast to orcas hunting seals.
Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I want to share with you some experiences that I have lived and that I still remember over the years.
When I was 25 years old, I traveled to Córdoba, a city in Argentina, from Mar del Plata, by long-distance bus, to visit my brother who was living there. It was my first time traveling alone for so many hours. I was a little nervous, but delighted at the idea of seeing my brother.
It was a trip that would last 16 hours, and it took more than 18 hours without making stops because there had been a flood.
As soon as I got off the bus I saw my brother with a book in his hand, his faithful companion during the wait.
I knew Córdoba, I had previously stayed in Carlos Paz.
The truth is that I highly recommend it, it is a very beautiful place, and the people are very warm.
There are nice museums, parks, and the nightlife is very attractive.
That combined with having many small towns very close where you can really enjoy nature, makes it an excellent combination.
And although no family lives there anymore, it is a place that I would always return to, it is beautiful and cozy. Without a doubt, it was engraved in my heart. Of course, if you are not a fan of heat, don't go in summer.
I am sure that it will be a place where you will find things you like to do regardless of your tastes or your age. Enjoy it!
