I would recommed to visit Coimbra (it´s on the way from Lisbon to Porto), Braga and Guimaraes (these two are near Porto).
2 week driving trip Portugal in March
For your two-week Portugal trip, start in Lisbon, then head to Évora for history, followed by the Algarve’s quieter towns like Tavira. In the Douro Valley, Pinhão offers stunning views and wine tasting. Opt for boutique hotels with parking in smaller towns for a comfortable, less crowded experience. Enjoy your journey!
There is some good wine tasting in Duero valley. Douro valley probably is the most famous Portuguese wine region. Year 2024 should be very good wine year if wines are what you are interested in Portugal.
We will stop in Evora and, up north, Braga and Guimaraes. We will pass on Coimbra as smaller towns appeal to us. Thanks for all the advice!
