For my schoolwork I need help with any good ideas for creating a backpack that has motion sensors on the zips to prevent it being stolen. Does anyone have any wants/ needs for the product? If so what would be your main concerns.
Backpacks
love this idea you need to make sure everything will be able to fit in I also thing this is good for the bad people that steal from people. also make sure the straps will fit everyone thanks

Exactly how would that work? Would the motion sensors set off an alarm?
It's not clear whether you want to stop things being stolen from the bag or to stop the whole bag being stolen.
If it's things being stolen from the bag imo lockable zips would be much more useful. Frankly, if a petty thief wants to steal from a backpack when it's on your back he/she is much more likely to slice through the fabric with e.g. a razorblade than to open a zip and risk alerting you (or other people). If you're thinking about security you should make sure whatever fabric you use is difficult or impossible to slash.
If you want to stop the whole bag being stolen those zip sensors will need an on/off switch and be very precisely adjusted. Backpacks are much more likely to be stolen when they're being transported and the sensors certainly shouldn't be set off by the (sometimes excessive) movement of cars, buses, trains, planes, ships or baggage handlers!

If the zips have motion sensors, what is to stop a thief from taking the whole bag without opening the zips? As leics2 says above, lockable zips are cheap, easy and stop people opening the zips.
