So I’m looking to travel to India, Nepal and Sri Lanka on my own in January if anyone wants to join me your more then welcome!

I’m looking for any information and what the best way to travel being a woman on her own, I have thought about a tour but I have previously travelled to Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe and would prefer not to do a tour so I can do it in my own time!
Would greatly appreciate any help about these destinations thank you! x

Hi Ellie,
I'm going to Nepal and India for January, also solo...maybe I'll run into you! I'm flying into KTM on Fri Jan 3, then to Delhi on Jan 17.
Will you be in those places around those times?
Safe and interesting travels to you!
Laurie

Hi Ellie,

Nepal is one of the safest countries to travel for solo women travelers. I wrote this up which might help about -snip-

India and things change quite a lot. You'll need to be on your guard more and I would advise taking plenty of precautions like not being out alone at night, etc.

Sri Lanka is easier for solo women travelers I've quite a few friends who have stated the had no issues. But again, caution at night etc.

If you do meet up with other travelers then India and Sri Lanka would be the best to have a travel partner. Keep in mind January in North India and Nepal will be very cold!

Tours are good is you are on your own in Sri Lanka or India. In Nepal there's no real need for a tour at that time of year unless you are doing a trek. It's the off season so you'll save money.

Hope this helps
