Hello fellow travelers, appreciate some travel tips/help on the below!
1) Is there an overnight bus from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh? If yes, which one and how to book? I wanna save the day by traveling during night
2) I'll be in Siem Reap for a day - I know it isn't sufficient, but time isn't a luxury for this trip. What's the best that I should do? Where to stay? What to visit etc.? Any bookings that I need to do in advance? I reach around 2pm in the day and leave next day noon.
3) Any idea about the Koh Ru islands (Bamboo islands)? I read about these bungalows (http://koh-ru.com/) in a blog but have no idea how to contact (no response on the email, no one answers the phone). Appreciate if someone has any tips?
I'm more of a advanced planner, and feel more at ease when things are sorted out/booked in advance. So would like to take care of the above three soonest, although I'm traveling in early Jan

If my memory serves me right (since December 2009) tickets for Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples are available at 4:30pm for the following day. This means you can visit the area after 4:30pm and watch the sunset from a hill down between the ruins and then go back and do a full day visit (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm and others) the next day. Visitors start queuing for the tickets about 4pm ish. You might just be able to visit the full site in the morning if you start out at 6am and whizz round - not ideal but...

1. I don't know about overnight buses, but the one I took during the day lasted merely 4-5 hours. Go in the early morning so you don't miss a thing on the beach. It's not that far from Phnom Penh! My blog.
2. Siem Reap: Less than 24 hrs is too bad! Try the Encore Angkor Guest House. Jump the back of a motorcycle or tuk-tuk for Angkor Wat and the sunset at Phnom Bakheng. Spend the evening in Bar Street and the adjacent blocks. Get up at sunrise and join your moto driver for two more temples at Angkor, including the Bayon. My blog.
