You could whizz round and see many of the 'main attractions' (from the outside) in one day but I'd suggest two full days as the minimum.
One day focused on the sights & sites of the Old Town plus the Jewish quarter and one for Prague castle plus Petrin Hill and Vysehrad.
If you want to make any daytrips (e.g. train to Sedlec for the 'bone church' and Kutna Hora, to Cesky Krumlov or Terezin) you'll need to add a day for each.
We spent one week, with one-2 daytrips to see some castles around (KarloVivary or something like that).
So : yes, one day if you just walk by, 2 days if you go into some museums, 3 days to see it relatively correctly, more to do daytrips and soak the atmosphere.
But I'm biased, I've been to Prague more than a dozne times and love it each time I go.
2 or 3 days should be enough. We've been there for 4 days and didn't see much outside of Prague, we also saw the zoo. Probably not what anyone sees as a main attration, but really worth a visit if you hadn't thought of it. If you like to visit the sights and not walk right past them, like Prague Castle , i'd see take three days.
Thanks so much for sharing. Think I will spend two full days there and then head to Denmark.
Have a great day

I have plan to spend one week in Prague. Thank you!
I would relish a week in Prague!! I've stayed there 4 days but didn't find it enough. Might wanna get to Vinohrady, really nice part of the city. I wanted to do daytrips to Kutna Hora, Pilzn and Cesky Krumlov but didn't manage to do everything :/ Karlovy Vary was a gem <3 The city is very charming, you always find something to do... The Vysehrad is also nice if you are looking for an unconventional destination overlooking the Vltava River
Thank you to all the advices and sharing. Really appreciated
Your welcome!
I stayed there a week when I visited. I was never bored.
