The current profile of much of our spam is for them to drop multiple posts in a batch.
I wonder if it would be possible to automate handling of this? Such as a first time poster trying to make a second post within a few minutes, triggering both posts to be reported?
Or since telegram seems to be the platform of choice for these dodgy characters these days, can that word be blacklisted for new users to trigger a report?
Blacklisting 'telegram' absolutely makes sense. Nowadays I can't think of any other context on TP in which the word would be necessary.
There are some limits in place currently. Won't go into the details too much on that, but obviously they are easy enough to circumvent and the spammers have worked out how to get around them.
I could blacklist telegram.. though the problem I have is that the blacklist applies quite broadly - not just in the forums, but in the blogs as well. And it's a bit more likely to cause issues there I'd say.
I'll probably need to dedicate some more time to making some tailored forum spam trapping systems.
