Hi i am travelling to Quito by air from panama in the next few weeks.are there any places near to quito where i could staybut at lower altitudes? I would like to be able to visit quito for a day trip if possible. Also flying to Bogota,again are there any places to stay near bogota but at less altitude maybe under 2000m? would like to visit Bogota fro day trips also.

Why do you want to stay at a lower altitude? If you have an altitude problem it will (I think) be worse on a day trip than it would be if you stayed at altitude and dealt with it. Quito is in a mountain valley - almost everything near there is higher and not lower

I know that we went from Quito to Guayaquil by a short plane flight, and Guayaquil is at sea level.
