Thanks Willy.
I just saw on internet that its rainy season there during january. We enjoy summer as basically we are from india. I really enjoy temp around 30 C.
Do you think so we might not enjoy much in Machu Picchu, cusco and amazon due to rain and heat?

Bhumika

Hello Bhumika
I highly recommend to travel within september and december (busiest season is from june to september). January is part of the rainy season (december to march) being february the rainiest month. This year torrential rains damaged the train tracks to Machu Picchu on late january for example.
Have a great time in Peru,
Ivan

Yes I recommend early september as well (I was there at this time).... as the andes are definitely usually more important for tourists and it's just before the rainy season begins there.... I could imagine thats not so fun to visit machu pichhu by rain... or generally it must be very very cold....
I guess the amazon will have rain allways... (but I dont know when the seaon is when there is more rain)....
but on the coast it's very early spring... so no beach time... but I dont think you go to peru for beach and surf... or do you?.. beacuase then you should go around january
Its very difficult as peru has so many different climatic areas ....
But I think you should choose the best for the andes and cusco...
greetings from a peruvian in switzerland

It will be raining a bit in January. I would suggest going farther South to either Chile or Argentina...Patagonia is amazing that time of year. Good luck!

Jan in SA, only to travel between Antartica/Ushuaia to Puerto Montt (Chile) or Bariloche (Argentina). Recommended
Torres de Paine National Park - so much hiking to do here
Glaciar National Park - go to El Calafate for Purito Mereno Glaciar and hike to see Mt.Fitzroy in El Chaten.
Tierra del Fuego National Park - canoeing in here with the seal, wonderful.
