Hi!
I am new here and just wanted to greet you all
And I also want to ask - what is your favorite place you ever visited? For me it is probably Wadi Rum in Jordan or Cotswolds in England
Greetings!
Welcome to Travellerspoint!
My favorite spots would be Lake Tekapo in New Zealand (specifically the observatory cafe at the Mt. John observatory, serving the most delicious hot chocolate with the most gorgeous view over the MacKenzie plain and the surreal blue of the lake, with the snowy mountains of the Southern Alps in the background), and El Chaltén in Argentina, for the huge array of gorgeous dayhikes you can do from there.
I'm curious about you mentioning the Cotswolds. Is the region actually good to visit? What about it specifically? An image search shows gorgeous and picturesque-looking towns, but when I see images like that, I immediately think of "Giethoorn" in the Netherlands, and how that's completely overrun with tourists (while dozens of similar not-quite-as-picture-perfect-places don't ever see any tourists, other than one of them sometimes having me riding through on bike while showing a foreign friend around - and they're nice for a photo stop, but otherwise completely forgettable).
Hi Sander!
Great choices! Oh it's my dream to visit New Zealand someday!
About the Cotswolds- it's really worth it. It's a wonderful region with beautiful landscapes and villages. All the villages are just so magical! Also, some famous movies were shot in many of them, for example the movie Stardust was filmed in Castle Combe. And this place is kind of overrun with tourists but I expected it to be worse. If you visit the place early in the morning before lunch no one will be there. There aren't many tourists in other towns, just in the really famous ones
One of my favorite places I have visited is the city of Kyoto, Japan. This city is filled with rich history, beautiful temples, and gardens that are simply breathtaking. The combination of traditional and modern culture creates a unique atmosphere that is truly mesmerizing.
