I'm surprised to hear On The Beach mentioned. Their advertising is saying they aren't selling holidays this summer because they don't want to contribute to the problem.

This holiday has been booked for over 2 years i rescheduled last year for an extra 800 so im really not wanting to be doing that again as it stands im only going for 6 days and it uodates the day i fly so if the country does go to red i would still be back in the uk beacuse they give you 7 days before it changed to a different colour

The UK Government says "you should not travel to countries or territories on the red or amber lists". I realise it begs the question of why there is an amber list, but I'm sure I recall a government minister saying it exists for essential travel, families getting back home when they've been separated by the pandemic, etc, rather than for going on holiday.

You are also kidding yourself pretending there's a guarantee you'll be given 7 days notice of a change. What gov.uk actually says is "If there is a sudden change in conditions, a country or territory may be moved between lists without warning."

The purpose of all this is to protect us against introduction of new variants and infections from high-risk places. You're putting your community at risk. Reschedule your trip - like the rest of us are doing.

That is absolutely not the case. I don't know where you've got that idea from but it's certainly not official government policy. As Andy says, there is no guarantee that a country won't change its listing in 2/3/4/whatever days. Quite the opposite, in fact. The official UK gov site very clearly states that:

> If conditions change in a country or territory, it can be moved from the green list to the amber or red list. If there is a sudden change in conditions, a country or territory may be moved between lists without warning. (my bold)

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england

If you must go on holiday to an amber-listed country a) you have to accept the restrictions and requirements that are placed upon you and b) you need to be very certain that your travel & health insurance remain valid.
