I always travel with my ancient Toshiba laptop for writing, blogging, emailing, banking and making some reservations or researching the area we're visiting. I have a mobile phone that I occasionally use as a phone (although I hate talking on phones) and mostly use for Google Maps when we're walking and need GPS, i.e. I got us lost again. I have a One+ phone that is fairly versatile and I can take photos with it but don't do that very often. I have a digital camera for photos. I also take a Kindle so I don't have to pack a lot of heavy books because we both read a lot and you can pack a library on a Kindle. My husband uses my laptop when he needs it and on our last trip he actually took a mobile phone to put his COVID tests on so we could get into restaurants and museums. He doesn't take a camera and occasionally uses mine for a few photos. We both paint so take painting supplies instead of a lot of other things like reading material. You can only take so much and we limit ourselves to a carryon and a small backpack.
