whats the cheapest way? flight or bus? other than megabus.com is there any other bus companies that'll do it on the cheap.thank you.
london to glasgow
Hi,
A cheap mode of transport is nationalexpress.com, an efficient bus service that runs out of the station next to victoria train station, you can also book tickets here if you dont want to do it on the web. They are better than megabus, which tend to have a lot of hidden charges. ryanair.com also fly london(luton i think!) to glasgow for around 20gbp one way, the bus takes around 10-11 hours if you dont have to change at Birmingham, which can make it up to 15hrs, the bus is only slightly cheaper than flying but you do get to see a lot of the country,(Manchester etc)but be aware if your over 6 feet tall the bus journey can be hellish!
Hope this helps

thanks stam yes on christmas eve a friend of mine booked a bus ticket went thru long hellish journey just to find out the next day that she could fly same price within one hour...id opt plane, too long bus ride would hurt my back pretty much lol
GNER, the train service does a route Kings Cross to Glasgow for around about £29 or sometimes less if there is a promotion only if you book a bit in advance. You can do this online www.gner.co.uk . Its not a bad journey and will only take you around 5 and a half hours!I would agree and say check out Ryan air too, say you heaps of time and its cheap!
Just thought I'd point out that whilst National Express may well be better than Megabus, the only hidden charge on Megabus is a 50p booking fee which is hardly extortion - I've regularly travelled the length of the country extremely cheaply and uncomfortably with them!
Theres another more bizarre wway of getting there and my mate always travels this way!I dont think its really my kinda thing, but hey, whatever floats your boat!!!Theres a website which posts places to rent, sales and wants, jobs blah blah blah a bit of everything and now they have started a thing called ride share which is kinda if people are going on a journey and they have space in their car they offer out a free ride?!?!Suppose its not too far away from hitchhiking but you can meet the people before I guess and take some precautions! My mate swears by it and has so far blagged lifts to Paris, Edinburgh and Cardiff all for the cheap price of offering someone to buy them a cup of tea at a service station!!!I suppose its just another option!!! Its all at www.gumtree.com , might be worth a look!Ive bought some bargains on there and Im living in a house I found through there too!
