TORRES DEL PAINE

Hello everyone

I'm organizing a solo trek (the W circuit) in Torres del Paine and I'm a bit lost in the articles/videos

I would like to do it in the west -> east direction, starting with the big camping site

The idea would be to take the bus of midday from Puerto Natales to arrive around 3 pm in Pudeto and to take the last catamaran (the one of 6 pm) to spend the night in Paine Grande

The next day to go to the Frances campsite to spend the night there (making the detour by the Britannico viewpoint)

Finally to the central campground to spend the night (and the next day hike to the towers before leaving the park)

So 4 days/3 nights

I have several questions:

- Is it feasible according to you (I am athletic and I walk rather fast even on long distances)

- It is noted that the last catamaran from Pudeto leaves at 6pm but depending on the number of people. Are there many people at the end of December/beginning of January?

- Is a cooking kit (container, knife, fork, stove) essential?

I was just looking at this using information from the - snip - For the route you're describing I think the distances should be achievable: no more then 20kms for each of the three walking days.

Based on my experience of the accommodation booking sites, you can order food (dinner, breakfast and / or a cut lunch) when you book the campsites. It is extortionately expensive so a stove and cooking gear might be a worthwhile investment.

If you find a proper timetable for the ferry, I'd be very interested to see it. 🤓👍
