Can I still go abroad?

So I'm an American Citizen and a few years ago I got arrested for a misdemeanor. Since then I didn't get convicted and the charge was later expunged. My question is can I still travel outside the US or am I forbidden to go to another country for the rest of my life?

Of course you can travel to other countries. You could travel to many countries even if you'd been convicted of a felony...and you weren't even convicted of a misdemeanor!

Every country has its own rules about who can enter so you need to check the requirements for anywhere you want to go. I'm not sure if the US has a centralised website for entry requirements but the country's embassy in the US website will give details. The official UK government website gives entry requirements for all countries, has useful official links and will give you a rough guide (it's not exclusively for UK citizens):

For example, as a US citizen you will be able to visit all 27 EU countries and all 26 Schengen Area countries for up to 90 days in any 180 day period. In 2023 US (and other) citizens will need to apply for an online visa waiver (like the ESTA required to enter the US) but your experience won't affect that:
