Another advantage of my Lumix cameras - a tilt sensor is built into the display (viewfinder and screen), and can be switched on and off as required. Mine's always switched on!

Getting a horizon level is hard. I have to correct some in post production anyways.

I started out with digital video tape c 1985 and with a digital still camera in 2000. If that was available then, I didn't know it or, more likely, didn't understand it. I confess I still don't pay that much attention to it except to see if the battery has a sufficient charge.
In my original 35 mm film camera, I had a little exposure meter on the top which I could set for the film speed, and then I set the f stop and focused manually. I was thrilled when I got a 35 mm film camera for work (c 1987) which was point and shoot - I didn't have to set the exposure, and I could get prints and slides from the same negative. (We had prints for our case files but we had to have slides for presentations.) My boss said I took more photos than a wedding photographer.
as for the horizon being level - I am often taking photos from some kind of vehicle (car, boat, plane, train). And I am sometimes in too much of a hurry to worry about whether the camera is level. Or else, I have to contort myself at some weird angle to get the item I want in the photo.
