Hi,
In was wondering for a bit more help on Madrid Airport if anyone could?
I will be landing in Madrid T1 at 16.40 and taking off from Madrid T4 at 19.55 with a different airline!
Could anyone give my any advice on how to get from each of the terminals and how long it may take me would this be sufficient time?
Thanks :)

Hi Nathan,

there are busses (shuttles) travelling between each of the Terminals. From T1 on, it will go to T2 and T3 before heading to the motorway to go to T4. This will take around 10 minutes in total. These are free of charge. If you exit from the baggageclaim (sala 2, I assume for T1), you just need to go through the doors opposite the exit, and the busstop in a mere 20 metres to the right. If that is enough depends on the requirements from the airline you take at T4 (for flights within Europe, normally you can check in until 30 to 45 minutes before the flight)

Thanks Herr Bert, I have been trying to look for a similar map but was unable to find one, do you think that 3 hours would be sufficient, or is it worth paying a little more for a later flight? I'm going to be catching my connection with Iberia, I dont suppose you know anything about their check - in limits?
I will be coming from Terminal 1, are the shuttles easy to find then?
Thanks Again!

Hi Nathan,

If you are flying within Europe (Iberia Shuttle) with Iberia your limit is 20 minutes, but that would be really strechting it. Iberia time limit, (remember you would still need to go through security, and get to the gate) 3 hours between landing at T1 and boarding at T4 is easily doable. My aim would be to be at the gate about half hour before the flight, as that is usualy the time they start boarding. The only thing I would worry about are what happens if you have a delay on the first flight. But that is a risk you need to evaluate. If the first flight is on time, it is perfectly doable to catch the connection.

It is easy to find. If you exit the bagageclaim, you don't walk out directly to the busstop in front as I said before, because those are for the busses going into town. You need to go up one level first, and take a bus there, that will first go to T2, T3 and finally T4.As many airports, it has two levels, one for departures, and one for arrivals, as you end up at arrivals, you need to get up to the departure level again for the connecting flight (I never take these transfer busses myself, as I just take the city busses, to take me there, and get back into town).
