Hello everyone! I'm really looking to going to Cuba this/next year! However, I see nowadays it's not that easy to go there from Europe with all those flights, etc.

Could you please maybe give me a tip on which way is the best to reach Havana? Thank you in advance!

If you search on https://www.skyscanner.com you'll see that there are plenty of flights from German airports to Havana.

At the moment there are no direct flights but it's really no big deal to make a transfer at e.g. Madrid or Paris. If you book a 'through' flight with one airline (e.g. Munich to Havana) you can be sure that your bag will be checked through at the transfer airport.

Book on the airline's own website.

As you'll be flying from an EU airport you'll be fully-covered by EU air passenger rules on your outbound flight. If you fly with an EU-based airline e.g. Iberia or Air France you'll be fully covered in both directions:

wow thank you for such a detailed reply!

Btw, do you know if it's true that the tickets are cheaper if you buy them with the VPN on?

Hurricane Ian has not been too kind to Cuba - travelling this year may not be the best option.

You can try but, especially post-Covid, I really don't think airline prices vary much by country of purchase. You'll also have to factor in charges made by your card provider for payment made in foreign currency.

There's nothing to stop you exploring the option, obviously.

According to a friend travelling there in july and august 2022:
Kein Transport, kein Futter in den wenigen Restaurant und alle 4 Stunden 6 stündige Stromsperren im.land. Geschäfte leer.
Google translate:
No transport, no food in the few restaurants and every 4 hours 6 hour power cuts in the country. shops empty.
