For the last year I was living without TV, and I don't really miss it at all. There are only a few things I actually miss sometimes (The Simpsons, Wildlife Documentaries) but on the other hand, there is too much mindnumbing stuff out there.
How about you, could you do without it?

I rarely watch television, because most of the shows are in Chinese

A few months ago I would have said yes..I hadn't watched a tv show in years............Television is unnecessary but now with my current CSI addiction..I would have to say no:(

I stopped watching TV 3 years ago - when I started my massage courses.

Internet is much more interesting

I dont watch a whole lot of TV until it is time for me to go to bed late at night. But I do turn the TV on when I get home, I like to have some sound in the house so I can feel like there is someone around...

TV is so trashy these days. Reality TV, soap operas, and has-beens talking about any subject from any era. I saw some pop star talking about a cartoon from the early 80's. She was going on about how she remembered this episode and that blah blah. I looked up her date of birth and she was 1 when the show was on - she must have had some memory!!!!! TV i can live without for sure (i'm with Pardus on The Simpsons though!)

By "TV" do you mean network/cable shows? Because I do not watch them at all. Would watching movies on my "TV" be lumped into that? I find movies much more interesting and varied.

We do not have cable/satellite TV so we're stuck with 3 networks and PBS. Yes, we could live without TV and would actually get more reading done in the process! We do watch TV and have favorite programs - but if they weren't there, we'd wouldn't really miss them. If I want to see the "Simple Life", I just need to go visit the neighbors - seriously. (Well, we might miss West Wing for awhile...)

last year, my mom and i replaced our crappy cable television (that we rarely watched anyway) with a squash membership at our local gym!
It was such a better use of time, and i now love squash!!
