I noticed that when I want to redirect Nassau to Nassau (Bahamas) it mentions that I can not create the article because the article 'Nassau' exists already.

Although that is technically true, the article is a disambiguation article which in turn refers to the options: Nassau in the Bahamas, or another Nassau I have never heard of and probably noboby will make an article about.

Would it be possible to still start an article about Nassau please, so exlude the disambiguation link if I type Nassau in an article. I find it annoying when reading an article, see a link and click on that, that I am first redirected to the disambiguation page.

You should try Nassau in wikipedia, and then see how many places they have!

Oh yeah, and especially in the US and Latin American countries the imagination is quite low. But I just mean to have at least one direct link to the main place. Guess it's something for the 'future'
