Hi, I was a previous Travelpod prolific user. When they closed down in 2017, I transferred firstly to TravelArk (where it still is) but wrote blogs for several years then on offexploring.com. blog platform. This is now no longer being supported. I can access my stories but can't send a link for friends to find particular past stories. Can I do a huge exercise of copy/paste to bring the past blogs over to Travellers Point? (TravelArk no longer have an option to export the whole lot). Any suggestions??? If I start using Travellerspoint now can I add these old stories in afterwards and will they be in consecutive date order? Thank you for any help you can give! Heather
Bringing previous blog stories to Travelpoint
You can manually edit the posting time of any blog entry, and thus set the order in which entries are displayed on your blog with 'little' effort (editing one text field per blog entry does tend to eat up time if you have hundreds of blog entries, but it's relatively little).
However, I don't know if the import from travelark is still supported. I seem to remember that Peter (the admin) turned it off after a few years (and then turned it back on when another straggler asked for an import). Do you have the instructions? If so, I'd just try - if it doesn't work, you'll have to start by asking Peter if he can turn that back on, and hope it'll work at all still.
I just looked up the instruction, and https://www.travellerspoint.com/travelpod.cfm now says "It is no longer possible to automatically import travelpod blogs and photos into Travellerspoint." (where ~ 2 years ago it still had instructions on how to import things), so I'm afraid that the huge exercise of copy/pasting has also become the way to carry over your travelark content.

While you can put the sections of each individual blog in date order, I can tell you that the blogs will be in the order that you import it - it won't be in date order no matter how you do the dates on the individual blogs. So the first blog I added in 2016 was one I originally did in 2002 on VT. Then after that I did a new one in 2017, and after that I did one from 2016, and the blogs are in the order I put them into TP. I have dealt with this as much as I can by putting the dates in the titles and using the same color on the map for trips in the same year.
But it is possible to copy text over to TP. Almost all my trip reports start out as emails to my family- without photos. So I always had a text basis and it was relatively easy to cut and paste it into TP
I had the advantage in that Peter allowed us to import all our photos from VT to TP when VT was going offline. But it might be easier to just upload photos as you need them to go into the blogs
