HI
We are going on a cruise later this year that embarks from Yokohama. We are having 3 days prior to departure in Tokyo
We are not going outside of Tokyo so wanted a metro / rails pass
I still cant get my head around the rails passes and rail lines
anyone able to simplify what we need to get
Tokyo's Confusing Rail system(s)
We used a JR Pass while travelling in Japan. But this was for intercity travel. As far as I remember we just bought regular tickets for Tokyo City while getting around.
I recommend you to buy IC card for transportation (Suica or Pasmo), Suica is sold at any JR stations and Pasmo is sold at any other private rail lines and metro stations. You just need to swipe the card at ticket gates and they can be used for any trains/metros in Tokyo vicinity.

There are some one day/ 48hrs/72hrs metro pass but it depends on your itinerary and the location of your accommodation if you can save some money with those pass.
