I keep getting comments which look like they come from TP admins - always different people and from gmail or yahoo emails. I delete them, but maybe I shouldn't. This is one of them.

Hey!
I am new to the platform and haven't had any comments on my posts yet.
Curious to know what exactly is your concern?? Is it privacy/security breach? Is it fake comments?
Just trying to learn more about TP

I think that you are getting a notification email from travellerspoint, about a comment made on one of your blogs by someone with a gmail/yahoo email address (as seen in your blog management area)? That is because on your "The Peripatetic Summer of 2004" blog (and possibly others), you have changed the setting "Anyone can comment (not just Travellerspoint members)" to "Yes", and have set the "how long for?" setting to "Forever" rather than the recommended 10 days after posting. And that means that these comments are just ordinary spam tryouts, mistakenly 'addressed' by the spammer "To the travellerspoint.com webmaster", and the only thing that's coming from TP is the notification that the blog comment is there.
If you go into your blog management area and change either of those two settings, the spam comments should stop. If you don't want to do that, then yes, deleting such comments is the right action.
So, just to make it completely clear: the email is from travellerspoint. The blog comment is spam.
Just to make certain, however: Since you say you're getting these "from gmail and yahoo emails", there's another interpretation: Do you mean that the notification email comes from such an address? That would mean that you're being phished, which would be weird and worrisome, as I hadn't expected travellerspoint to be popular or valuable enough for it, let alone for the effort of connecting your presence on travellerspoint to your email address. If this is the case, do NOT click on any links in such emails, and indeed delete them (the emails) immediately.

Yes I knew the email was coming from TP to notify me of the comment. (Although I haven't gotten all of them - the one I listed was one of 4 and I only got one notification).
I just meant that the person makng the comment usually had a gmail or yahoo return address.
I was confused by the TO address to the webmaster. Which I am not - I didn't understand that. I thought it was also possible that I missed something and that those people making the comment were some kind of admin of TP. It sounded like an AI comment and I didn't know if I needed to take any other action other than deleting them.
The reason that I have allowed comments outside of TP is that I frequently reference my blogs to give others information about my experiences in a specific place, and wanted them to be able to make comments without joining TP.
