You probably already noticed the site looks a little different than normal. I've changed the site font to one that I believe is a little nicer. Please let me know if it looks really weird anywhere. These things always take a little while to get used to but I think it will seem very natural in no time.

The bigger change though is some brand new profile pages. Far less messy, mobile friendly and appealing to the eye. I hope you like it :)

... This is going to take some getting used to. First impression, not a fan of this "Inter" font - too heavy, but yeah, font changes are always fraught. I'll give it a couple of days.

I dislike that the photos on the profile page are upscaled (thumbnails of 200px wide show as ~232px wide), making them noticeably blurry.

I miss my profile tagline.

Looks good, other than that! :)

Hmm, good point. My eyesight is getting worse I think and I didn't notice. I've updated that so the photos are a little smaller and sharper.

I miss my profile tagline.

Adding that back in now :)

Tweaked the font a little too. I had it at a heavier weight than it needed to be. This feels a lot better to me. Though I am toying with the idea of making headings bolder.

Oh yeah, that font change is a vast improvement. Kinda liking it now, though it's still taking some getting used to, and the iIl situation is really bad (lowercase i, uppercase i, lowercase L) - and try putting that in the textarea for even more lack of differentiation, as the smaller font-size makes the gap in the i nearly invisible.

It's good that the profile page is more mobile friendly, but as someone who rarely uses their mobile to look at it, there's a lot of scrolling on a laptop and a lot of wasted space on the left as you do so! Still, I'll get used to it.

More importantly, I clicked on one of my photo thumbnails but when it opened there seemed to be no direct way to return to the profile. There's no X to close it and the only 'back' option takes you to your gallery not your profile page.

This behaviour is not new to the new profile. I suspect because the thumbnails are a fair bit larger now that maybe it is more noticeable. Perhaps it is worth just loading the photos in an overlay like you're expecting it to.

Please no! The full gallery functionality is definitely what I want after clicking through.

What you can maybe do is alter the link style for the username directly under the caption to show the expected underline, so that it's more readily visible that it's a clickable link through which people can go back to the profile (besides just using the back button).

I could also make it so the link on the stream page changes to "Back to <username>'s Profile" instead of "Back to Gallery" in the situation where they came from a profile. Might be the clearest option for people.
