Glad you cleared up that the courier depot will be in Dublin.
Success getting a USA visa
I’ve had a lot of help from this forum so I thought it’s only right to update you all on my journey.
Jumped on a flight to Ireland, Arrived at the embassy(Dublin) 30mims early. Details taken and a sticker put on my passport, they also wanted to see my 2x2” passport photo.
Phone taken and locked away then directed to the building.
Joined a small queue and went to the first window, she checked my passport(confirmed I had a second passport to get home) took my finger prints and asked what visa I wanted(I need a B1 with OCS) for working on vessels. Handed her the letter from my employer.
Then asked to join another queue for interview. He asked me what ships I would be working on then asked if I’ve been in trouble with the police after the previous ABH charge 20+ years ago.
I gave him the police certificate with the stepped down letter. He then said he needed to check on something(this is when my heart sank I I thought ah well that’s it then)
Then came back and said all good your visa will be ready within 10 days.
And that was it off I went. I’ve been stressing for months about this, spent so much time preparing documents, pay slips, bank statements, police SARs, references from people in the police Force. They didn’t ask for anything, although I do think the 4/5 cautions I had deleted from my record may have helped.
I was in and out within 30 mins.
Glad all went well.
The officer probably just needed to check his potential decision with a superior. As with all jobs, there are levels of experience & expertise for visa officers and permitted actions associated with those levels. Checking with a superior is quite normal.
Much better to have documents they don't want to see than not have the documents they do want to see!
Hope the job goes well too.
