Okay, just to start getting notifications on this thread I will make shot in to the dark, is this location near Canberra?

Not near Canberra...

It was obviously not all that far from our home, mentioned frequently in my blogs. This was just a day's outing, so within easy reach.

Thank you for responding.

And now that I can no longer edit the initial post I realise there are a couple of little errors. There's a loose 'd' in one sentence where it doesn't belong, I failed to close off the italics after the first picture and I totally forgot to put this picture...

Lachlan balances the rock. One of the first adventures when we got into the park was for Lachlan to have his photo taken 'supporting' this balancing rock.

...of one of the several 'balancing rocks' to be found in this part of the country. Note how the tree on the other side of the rock has grown around it, too.

In Queensland then but I have no foggiest idea where so I will wait if someone else knows before I head downt the rabbit hole that is also known as a Google

Yes, it's in Queensland.

Two questions:

You refer to a 'park'. I assume you mean a national park?

Was this a daytrip by car from your home in Dalveen?

1. The last sentence is the clue to that.

2. Yes, also obvious.

You may consider your clues 'obvious': others may disagree. What is obvious to one person is not automatically obvious to everyone...and most especially if the language used is not their first.

Disparaging questions or guesses is not in the spirit of this...or any....game.

The last two paragraphs of my post said it all:

A lovely day, we retired to the home we so loved. A shame Janet's time to continue enjoying it was going to be cut short.

I believe there are enough clues in the pictures and the dialogue for a good start to be made in identifying this spot where we were on this day in the summer of 2013. The timeless grandeur of the park will remain as it is, and that's yet another clue.

Let me explain:

Firstly, at when I posted my questions I had not seen your reponse to Hennaonthetrek's post. It was, perhaps, remiss of me not to read all the preceding posts.

Going home after a 'lovely day' does not automatically mean a daytrip. It's entirely possible to visit a location from where it's possible to return home but which would not be feasible as a daytrip. As an example, I could drive home from Edinburgh but making a daytrip to explore there would not be feasible. Hence my question.

'The timeless grandeur of the park' doesn't tell me whether it's a national, state, regional or private park. Hence my question.

Regardless of my points above, a disparaging response to questions is not in the spirit of this...or any....game. All that's required is a simple 'yes' or 'no'.
