ESTA Application Question

Travel Forums North America ESTA Application Question

Hello everyone,

I am an Irish & UK national and have a doubt about an ESTA application. I have declared that I have another citizenship through birth but do I also need to include passport details where it asks if I have ever been issued with a travel or document or passport by any other country?

When doing my last application, that was accepted, I had chosen "no" because I thought this was referencing what could possibly be a third nationality or national identity card issued by another country that enables you to travel, rather than the one declared via birth. I do live in a third country and have a non-travel national identity card for this country.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Read the question again.

If it asks you if you've ever been issued with a travel document or passport by another country you don't need to enter your national ID card details.

If it asks if you've ever been issued with a travel or document or passport by another country, you do.

Presumably, that means I should have entered my other passport for my second nationality, then? I declared the nationality but hadn't entered the passport details for it last time as I thought it was related to a potential 3rd nationality/travel document.

If it asks you for details of other passports held then yes, you should.

It's always a good idea to read Esta & similar forms very carefully before submitting them.

Thanks for the reply. I will enter it on this one and fingers crossed it doesn’t cause problems with the new ESTA. I think I must have misunderstood the wording last time.
