Ingrid if I were you, I'd create a personal blog about Gubbio - also as future reference;-)
Disagreements in Travel Guides
Kathrin and Sarah: I only found your replies today. Yes, I will create an own very long blog about Gubbio (have started already with the first entry). And Sarah: yes, please - I appreciate your view of course. Especially since you could remove my possible "too personal" or "too emotional" view.
Mike:
please have an eye on me, I find pleasure writing/adding/editing the travel guides. For "my" regions and countries, Italy and Germany.
One question about the photos:
oops, sorry, I didn't see (=read the articles linked by Steve and Peter) that the photos must be featured photos. For Germany/Hessen and Germany/Saarland I have added photos I thought to fit. They are not featured I think but fit to these states.
But I did not find out how I make them appear large and above the introduction.
Mike - I saw you did that for Saarland, thanks!
In context to the changes for Saarland's external link I have a question about the links to external sites in general:
I would have thought that it is better to find and add the English versions of tourism oriented websites. That was the reason why I have exchanged the external website. Because on the .de one there is no English option and it is more related to internal state things and not so much for travellers.

Thanks for the great input Ingrid, I will regularly check the updates but so far all looks great to me. And feel free to add more of course.
You can add the cover photo all the way at the bottom with one of the buttons over there. If no featured photos exist, you can tick the 'include non featured photos' as well.
Regarding the external links, preferably the official government and tourism website. If non exist, something else might be included. Maybe there is a Saarland tourism website as well. But with other websites, the grey field starts and where does it end regarding spam or not?
Cheers
Thanks Mike! I'll add more, especially to my home state Saarland and my two current states Rheinland-Pfalz and Hessen. And will ask you when I am not sure how to add something properly. For now, I always look at the edit versions of already largely filled ones and see how it is done there.
As for the Saarland link: the one I had entered was the English version by the official Saarland Tourism Board. Some German tourist regions seem to have bought a .co.uk ending for better SEO results in non-German countries rather than keep it a .de ending. I'll message you :-)

I had a look and them and seems like indeed something like that exists. Good promo from the regions/states in Germany by the way. Something many others can learn something from..
Also for other people here: good to add these both, so German and English versions
Cheers
What to do if obvious historical facts are wrong in the wiki pages? Wrong in a way that has to do with political propaganda?
For example, in the Wroclaw, Poland wiki page, there is mentioning of the "Nazi occupation". Wroclaw, or Breslau, was part of Germany until 1945, thus not occupied.
I don't want to start awkward discussions, but IMHO this needs to be corrected.
Hmm, I can't find any mention of Nazis on the Wroclaw page, only on the Poland page. It would be fine to adjust something like that though.
Hmmm I think I am confusing something. Sorry. That was somewhere else.
Please forget it.

No problem. The question is still valid in a hypothetical kind of way
