Visa Issues

Hello,

after high school I worked&traveled through Australia for 2 years. I know that one is only eligible for 1 Visa once in a lifetime. Back then I took the opportunity, did some farmwork and I was granted the 2nd year visa. Being from Germany you can only apply for a visa if you are 30 years old or younger. I am 29 now and feel like doing it again

I vaguely remembered that people told me they just applied for a visa again - and received it also.

So my question is this : does anyone know, has anyone heard of a person that just applied for the first visa again and got it ?
or just applied for the 2nd or 3rd visa and got lucky ?

It has been 10 years, maybe they deleted my files and it is worth a try ....

I find it extremely unlikely that that would work, and even if it did seem to work initially, it's definitely fraud, which might carry quite some legal consequences.

Consider doing a WHV in New Zealand instead, and just heading to Australia for a 3 month "vacation" while in New Zealand? I personally much prefer New Zealand to Australia, for the nature, but culture-wise there's quite a bit of overlap, and just as many long term backpackers

Yeah, well.... My plan was, as I have a degree in geology, to try finding a job in the Australian mining industry...
I applied from from here, but not being there or not having a valid visa/work permit makes it impossible to do it 🙃

I'm not sure that works on a working holiday visa anyway. I thought there was a rule forbidding permanent work, with a 6 month limit per employer.

If they didn't want you because of no visa before, it'll be the same with a WHV.

If you want to (semi-)permanently move to Australia and find an actual job there, I'd recommend just getting a work visa. Geologist is on the skilled occupation list. If you can claim at least 65 points on the points calculator (I didn't check all relevant work visas, some might require fewer points? - but between your age, degree, and obvious fluency in English, you should reach 65 points without trouble), you should have a very good chance of being invited to apply for a relevant work visa.

yes, it works. for 6 months. after hat they would ned to sponsor.

no the visa makes all the difference. when you apply via seek the emplyer in 90% of cases will ask about visa status etc.
they are unwilling to sponsor. but in order to possibly get sponsored you have to BE there.

i have looked into that but ...but if i remember correctly it says hydrogeologist ...that is not my specialization. nonetheless, maybe worth a try.

yes, you are right. i just checked it also. but to be honest, the whole process seems really convoluted. but yeah i might give it a shot when i have saved up some money

a couple of months ago i posted an ad on gumtree, saying that i had studied geology (M.Sc in applied geoscines /energy and mineral resources), was still living in germany bla bla... and that i was looking for a job..... no one replied but one.
this guy has told me that he was american and just emigrated to australia illegaly back in the 70's lol. he just stayed after his visa ended and then found a girl and married her.... i don't know if they would still be this lenient when it comes to immigratin nowadays hahah
