I would miss the news.....and maybe Family Guy 1st, the Simpson's 2nd. beyond that, .....lets go on a hike.

You could probably get those things on your phone

Hate to admit it, but I'm cheap, I own a flip phone with no internet. So , no, I cannot get those on my phone.

I don't like watching TV. It's boring, and there aren't any shows I like.

I seldom watch TV now. The functions of TV have been replaced too much by mobile phones and computers. Only my mother still watches TV relatively frequently at home. She pays much attention to the weather forecast program on TV. Even though I showed her that the weather forecast can also be watched on the mobile phone and it's more convenient. I occasionally watch rugby programs. It's not a big problem to leave TV, but if I have to leave my mobile phone, I will be very uncomfortable.

I'm sure it's completely fine not to watch TV. I can't even remember when was the last time I watched TV.

I think when you say you don't watch TV because you use your phone instead - you are substituting the internet for TV. The real question is could you live without getting news, weather and shows on any device - TV, phone or computer. Completely off the grid internet-wise.

Can you?
I still watch TV and do NOT find my phone more convenient for the weather. I have to ask my phone questions to get the weather. I can just turn the TV on and do something else while I wait for the weather report.

I understand your point. For me, it would be extremely challenging to live completely off - grid in terms of getting news, weather, and shows. I'm so used to having easy access to information. However, I do see the value in disconnecting sometimes. Maybe I could try it for a short period, like a weekend, to experience a different way of life. But in the long run, it's hard to imagine not having any of those devices to rely on.
