Hey guys!

Been travelling a few times locally (in the Philippines) and diving. Just curious: What personal gear do you guys bring along when you dive and travel? I usually just bring a snorkel and mask and rent other gear and equipment.

Thanks in advance!

WHen I was diving I brought a snorkel, mask, dive skin, regulator and my dive computer plus a wrench to attach it to their bottles and the book where I recorded my previous dives. I rented fins, BC and tanks

For (back in the days I was diving) totally depended on when and the main purpose of the trip (flying from UK).

eg Diving Red Sea I'd generally be doing nothing but diving so I'd take a lot of kit (everything except tank (but including ABLJ inflator bottle!). And where I was heading to Sinai through Egypt, flying to Israel with a dive knifew in your luggage was "interesting".

but when diving Belize then 1 month travel would be just 1 week on the Cayes so maybe mask. Certainly my girlfriend too her mask as she has optical correction in the mask lenses so crucial for her.

In Med just mask.

Awesome, thanks for sharing! @greatgrandmaR and @Psamathe

I'll take these into account and see what I can bring.

Have you guys been to or planning to go to the Philippines?

I have not been nor am I planning to go to the Philippines.

Back around 2001-2004 when we were traveling on our sailboat, we had our own tanks and BCDs and flippers along with the rest of that stuff (dive light, weights etc) Because weight and airline restrictions did not matter on the boat.

But back then I was 62-64. And 20 years later I have lost control of my feet (I have spinal stenosis and foot drop) so I can't really dive anymore and can barely snorkel. I need a chair lift to get into and out of the pool. I've given away all of our gear.

I am not quite ready to give up traveling but I may have to soon, and Bob (my husband) is definitely ready to stay home - except he has not quite given up on our boat even though I know I can't get on the boat anymore.
