Hi,

I love smartphone apps (I have an android) and I think that they're really making our live better. I always have my smartphone with me when traveling and it helps me a lot, but... There are so many apps for traveling and it's hard to choose from. So, please tell me about your favorite apps for traveling, 'cause there nothing better than advice from real people.
Thx a lot :)

CityMaps2Go is my favourite Map app when I'm travelling. You can download city maps with or without wiki data so you can access them offline anywhere in the world; you can set destinations and have itineraries drawn up offline.

Other than that, Evernote and Dropbox (so whatever notes or photos you take on your phone can get backed up online whenver you hit a wifi spot, just in case your phone gets stolen), a currency converter, and a language app if I don't speak the language. That's all. I don't like relying on apps too much when I travel.

If you're looking at travel guide apps, I quite like Triposo.

I am using Perfect World Clock when I travel . It gives the time of the place you're traveling to. Its easy to use

ViewRanger - a briliant free map/track/route app on iPxx and Android.

Uses GPS to show you exactly where you are and records your route together with timings, altitude statistics, speed, etc. Doesn't need a mobile signal once you've downloaded maps.

You can download free maps from OpenStreetMap or buy specilaist maps in-app.

If you are interested into logging the plants and animals you spot, then Noahs Project app. Also is you are going to Asia, I would suggest getting a GPS because they normally only have road signs with chinese characters, if they have any at all.

Gogobot is a useful app as it compiles a list of places to stay eat and roam around depending upon your preferences...so you travel like a local :) but for booking hotels i would recommend the tripadvisor app as it gives you a wider range of hotels to choose from! I recently planned my vacation using this site,Gogobot and Tripadvisor...it was perfect!!!
