travel stats

The travel stats show the days spent travelling, which is nice. However, day of departure for one stop and day of arrival for the next stop count as two, but they are on the same day and should count as one day.
How can I fix this?

When you say "stats", you don't mean the stats page, which lists 34 days (accurate for Aug 23 through Sep 26, as long as either departure or arrival date isn't counted), but the numbers to the right of each destination on the main map view for a trip, correct?

It does indeed feel weird to have e.g. your Grand Canyon south kaibab trail of the 9th list as "1 day", while the same day is also counted for the previous and next destinations, and adding up all those days for you would end up at 52 days, rather than the 34/35 it should be.

This number is a relatively 'recent' addition to the travel map (I've seen it before, but never really consciously noted it, and suspect it was added in the last year). I can see its use for giving a bit of a feel for what the major stops on a trip were, but all together it does feel more wrong than right. There doesn't currently seem to be a way to disable it or "fix" it that's available to you as a user, but Peter (the admin) should consider this thread as a bug report about it, and will hopefully come up with a better way of conveying this information. I added it a few months ago.

It might be better to show the number of nights rather than it number of days. No real chance of doubling up then.

Weird, but yesterday the the stats page showed 48 days (?) Maybe I did something wrong, no idea.

I quite like the stats page.
Just another minor thing: 'Modes of Transport' does show car and airplane, but not the hiking.

It does, but it's too narrow (9 px) to show any content, and as it's colored brown, immediately to the left of the nearly-black car background, it's very hard to see.

@Peter: maybe nice to do a hover/click effect on such narrow strips and make them slide out? Actually, I thought that existed before? Might be that I'm blocking some external script this depends on... If so, might be good to make that completely in house, since external script blocking is quite common these days.
