I was wondering how you take media when you're on the road. What cameras do you use? Any favorite angles or perspectives? How do you find inspiration when obtaining the media and then also when sharing it?
I'd love to hear about your passion!
I started out in 1948 with a Brownie film camera. In 1958 I got a Kodak for my 21st birthday, and I used that, mostly with slide film until the shutter failed and I couldn't get parts for it anymore - sometime in the late 70s. Then I used a variety of Canon film cameras and point and shoot cameras until 2000 when I got my first digital camera. I used both film and digital for a couple of years (Toshiba and then Kodak). I now have a couple of Canon digital cameras, and I also sometimes take photos with my phone.
I like to take photos of lighthouses, cemeteries, food and details of ordinary things. I like to shoot from the ground and also to get up and shoot down. I don't worry about inspiration. I just try to make a record of what I'm seeing.
I use both digital and film cameras. Normally I take Fuji X100T(digital) and Contax T2(35mmfilm) for travels, and sometimes use Holga ( toy camera with brownie films) or Exakta (an old 35mm film SLR camera made in East Germany in 1950s) depending on destination. I don't have zoom lens.
I prefer taking pictures of old architectures, crowds, graffiti, ads, vehicles, people or anything I think interesting. When I take pics of food, I normally use my phone. Normally I put B&W films in my contax and take photos in color with digital. Which to use depends on my mood.
I have a Panasonic Lumix with a Leica lens (digital) and use it almost exclusively. We try to find pictures of things we'd like to paint so are consciously looking for "paintings" in the rough. Sometimes it's a detail and sometimes a panorama, depending on what we want to paint. I also have a love of blue doors and shutters so have lots of photos of those in various places.
My uncle gave me my first camera when I was five or six years old and I've loved taking pictures ever since. I use the photos in albums, for paintings, make slide shows and the last ten years or so have been making books with them. Oddly, I don't like videos and seldom take one. I don't have the patience to sit through a video and I want to pin it down to a certain scene rather than suffer the entire thing. On the flip side, I could look at still photos for hours and be perfectly happy. 
I currently use my canon 77D or t4i and I carry on different lenses: 35mm, 50mm, 18-55mm, 18-135mm and 10-22mm. I love taking pictures to building and local people in their daily lifestyle. If it is to hard or not secure to take out my camera, then I use my cellphone with some len adaptors. I love making videos but not for any youtube channel. I think I save them to see if later in life i can sell them or something.
I am still a point and shoot camera person. I was given a film camera as a child, can't remember the brand then when I was in high school I got a digital point and shoot that was a Kodak, when that stopped switching on I got a Panasonic Lumix. Last year it started freezing and doing random things with the lens so I found myself looking into cameras.
When I was in high school I did a photography course so I have experience with DSLRs and I did consider that as my next camera but I also remember it was cumbersome 
I realise I value the convenience and compaction of a point and shoot
. While I do understand the quality may not match the DSLRs or the mirrorless I prefer a camera I can fit in my handbag and weighs very little. Personally I think the quality is quite good, though I decided to upgrade at least to a higher end P&S and got the Sony RX. I also have a Samsung phone and it does take really good night pictures but I do find when you blow up mobile pictures they tend to lose quality quickly.
I usually take pictures of landscapes, interesting buildings or things with interesting stories behind them that I want to remember. I try to capture the essence of a place if I can. Something to remind me of its vibe One lesson that was ingrained in me from my photography course was composition is king. So I try to keep that in mind when deciding to take that shot

As for video, I only use it if I want to capture a movement or maybe a sound. Like in Hawaii I want to get the sound of blow hole known for its unusual howl and on a road trip in Victoria I wanted to capture the spinning of an outdoor art piece.
I use two Panasonic Lumix digital cameras - a point and shoot TZ70 for evenings (because I don't usually want to carry a big camera then) and as a back-up, and a bridge FZ200 as my main camera. I like the compromise between heavier DSLR and the less flexible point and shoots, although I have to say the TZ70 is pretty good. Both have excellent Leica lenses.
As to subject matter, I like landscapes, wildlife, architectural details, street photography. I look for vivid colours, but also sometimes shoot in black and white, and I also love more subtle misty monotone images. I try to look for the unusual angle, although I usually also take the straightforward record shots as a reminder of where I have been. My blogs here showcase the photos I most love to take.
I only use video much less - for things like dance or musical performances, waterfalls, maybe animals.
I share my photos here in my blogs, on Flickr and Facebook, and sell (occasionally) through online stock photography agencies, mainly Dreamstime.
