Have any Brits had experience of a 12 month Australian travel visa? I’m planning a gap year there, but concerned that the visa agency website says the they will issue a 3, 6 or 12 month visa depending “on your circumstances”.

Has anyone had experience of this?

Not to be confused with the common working holiday visa, that I had in my early 20’s and therefor cannot have again.

The official Australian visa-finder:

https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder

suggests you'll need a 'Tourist Stream' visa. It states that if a UK citizen applies from outside Australia that visa may be granted for 3, 6 or 12 months.

Whether, and for how long, a visa is granted depends on all the details of each individual applicant so the experience of others is not a useful guide to what might happen with your application.

I suspect that a substantial part of what decides the length of visa validity is sound proof that a) the applicant has sufficient funds to fully support him/herself throughout the stay b) the applicant has no intention of trying to find work and c) the applicant has no intention of trying to stay in Australia.

You can see details of what is required...and check your eligibility...here:

All visa agencies require payment. Note that the official site above warns that before you pay anyone to assist with your application you should read this information:
