Am I the only girl who didn't know that finding tampons in Marrakech is more painful than the cramps themselves?
,
After hunting through supermarkets and attempting/failing to discreetly translate the word tampon to female staff members, I returned to the resort with liners.
Sticking those in a tiny bikini is my idea of a Holiday Hell...

While I have not been to Morocco I am not surprised by your experience. Feminine hygiene products as a whole tend to be a luxury item in most developing nations. The cost is usually too much for the average family so they tend to do things the old fashioned way with rags literally meaning rags. On top of that Morocco is a conservative country and generally in conservative countries there is a wide spread view that tampons are erotic products and will destroy girls' virginity, so it makes sense that tampons might not have much of a market in Morocco.
Best thing I find is to travel with your own feminine hygiene products, it isn't like they take up that much space in the suitcase and it is easier than trying to track down in a foreign country the particular products you like to use especially in countries where such products aren't frequently used in the first place

I doubt it...but doing some research before your trip is always sensible and, in this case, may well have prevented any problems. It's never a good idea to assume that any country will have the same items on sale as your own country.
As Teoni says, taking your own items with you is hardly a big deal!

@Teoni Totally agree that protecting virginity plays a big part in why they're so hard to buy as they did have a large variety of liners.

An odd response, given that at no point did I suggest or imply that you said any such thing. As my post above makes clear, I was underlining what Teoni had already said and simply stating the facts.

WhitneyEliz was only really here to promote her Youtube channel I'm quite sure. And when that didn't work out, she started to get a little snarky. She asked me to remove her account so I gladly did.
