Disneyland Paris

Introduction

Disneyland Paris first opened in April 1992 as just a single park in a relatively new town called Marne-la-Vallée in the suburbs of Paris. The park, orginally known as Euro Disney, is based on the American Walt Disneyworld in Florida. It attracts millions of visitors every year and is the most visited theme park in Europe. The second part of the resort, the Walt Disney studio Park, opened in 2002. The theme parks has fairground rides, parades, restauramts, firework displays and a princess castle while the studio park is dedicated to Disney movies.

Opening Hours

Park opening times vary depending on season and seasonal events however the park is usually open from 10:00am-10:00pm and the studio park is generally open between 10:00am and 9:00pm but guests as selected Disney hotels can often get two extra hours before or after official opening times.

Cost

To get the best deal on park tickets it is usually best to book in advance. Pre booked ticket prices vary depending on the time of year.
Low season prices start at around €70 per adult and €62 per child for one day including both parks. Mid-season and high season tickets are higher. As prices change constantly it is best to check the official website (see below).

Getting There

Disneyland Resort Paris is well connected to both international airports in Paris.
From Charles de Gaulle International Airport, (IATA: CDG), TGV operates high-speed train service to the resort from Terminal 2. The trip takes about 10 minutes.
From Orly Airport (IATA: ORY), you will need to take three trains: Orlyval (from Orly Airport to Antony), RER B (from Antony to Chatelet-Les Halles), and finally RER A4 (from Chatelet-Les Halles to Marne-la-Vallee Chessy).

Alternatively, VEA operates bus service to Disneyland Resort Paris from both airports, costing €17 for adults/€13 for children aged 3–11 per trip.

By Train

If you are arriving by plane or only visiting Disneyland for the day, the best way to get to Disneyland is by train. Catch RER A 4 train to Marne La Vallee Chessy. This is the last stop on the line and is only a short walk from the parks and the village. It takes around 40 minutes from central Paris.
Marne-la-Vallee Chessy is also served by four TGV train lines from destinations to the east and west such as Nantes and Lille.

Trains direct from the United Kingdom:

• 2 hours 45 minutes on the Eurostar from St Pancras Station in London.
• 2 hours from Ashford International.

By Car

Disneyland can be reached via the A4 motorway. It is well signposted. If you are driving from Calais, it will take 3 hours.

By Bus

There are various shuttle buses which will take you to Disneyland Paris. Most take around 90 minutes and some will include park price with the cost. Disneyland Paris express is great value.

Eat

At Cafe Mickey you can enjoy an Italian-American meal with Mickey, Minnie and all your favourite Disney characters. If you want this experience then be sure to book in advance.

Auberge de Cendrillon also offer a character dining experience in a fairytale castle. It is fit for a tiny prince or princess and the French cuisine is delicious.

Drink

Billy Bob's Country Western Saloon is in the heart of the village and with its wild West theme you would be forgiven for thinking you aren't in a cowboy bar. The concert hall can get pretty lively too.

Sleep

Disney hotels offer the full magical experience but if you just want to visit for the day, it is easy to get to the parks from most areas around central Paris on the train.
