Travel Guide How To:Index
Introduction
Throughout the years we've noticed certain questions being asked more often than others in our forums. Where these are not relevant to a destination, we've created this "How To" area to help answer frequently asked questions that can't be answered in one or two sentences. It includes everything from tutorials on how to insert maps into blog entries, how to create a map to how to get the most out of posting questions on our active forums.
As a part of the Travellerspoint Wiki Travel Guide, the How To area is maintained by the members of Travellerspoint, and any member can start an article around something they feel could use more explaining. Editing or contributing to an article is as easy as clicking the 'edit' link and making your changes.

Adding your own How To article
If you decide there is something missing from this list of How To articles, please feel free to add your own. The members of Travellerspoint are the ones who make this a great place to hang out more than anything else. Adding a How To article doesn't need to be difficult. It can be as simple as just adding a list of steps into a page. Another member might step in and help improve the article to make it even more useful.
Some Tips on Writing Good How To Articles
- If possible, try to add some screengrabs so people can follow along with the How To guide visually.
- Keep the language simple and to the point.
- Use headings to separate the content so it's easy to digest.
- Link to relevant pages liberally so people know where to go.
- Try to put yourself in the shoes of someone who is using the site for the first time. Don't assume they know where anything is.
It's not hard to write this content, but it can really help out other members who are trying to achieve something.
If you have an doubts about starting a how to article, feel free to post a topic in the Wiki Travel Guide forum
