The kitty who visited our courtyard. There is nothing like a friendly cat. by Beausoleil
We rented an apartment for a month in Paris for our 60th anniversary and a few people in the building had cats. Paris cats are not allowed in the street but some have a courtyard they are allowed to visit. Ours was one of the lucky kitties.
Musée d’Orsay - Labourage nivernais or Plowing in the Nivernais by Rosa Bonheur by Beausoleil
This is "Labourage nivernais" or "Plowing in the Nivernais" by Rosa Bonheur and is my favorite painting in the d'Orsay. The first time I saw it, I was immediately back on my grandfather's farm. It is a huge painting, 52 x 100 inches (133 cm × 260 cm) and at that time it had a wall to itself. I have since come to appreciate Bonheur's art and she was valued in her time which was unusual for a woman. Her home is now open outside Paris and you can visit or even spend the night.

Musée d’Orsay - The Angelus by Jean-François Millet by Beausoleil
This is my husband's favorite painting in the Orsay. We always make a pilgrimage to see the Millet paintings and my favorite, Rosa Bonheur before we look at the rest of the collection or the special exhibit when we are there.

Musée d’Orsay - Please note the crowd underneath the giant clock by Beausoleil
The Orsay was packed with humanity on this trip. It's usually crowded but this time with the Paris Olympics coming up, it was wall to wall people. There was a special Impressionists exhibit and we weren't going to miss it, but it was definitely an experience.

The collection is rotated according to various themes so it's good for several visits over several years. This was our first visit.
