The US Army sent me to Germany in 1968. My German wife of 35 yrs. and I first lived in IL and VA; then to Hong Kong (1977-83; 1989-90) and since 1991 here in Frankfurt, the center of Europe.
Now retired and staying in Frankfurt, a small city with great parks, cafes, and walking-biking about town. A great urban lifestyle seldom seen in the US.
- Hobbies:
Reading, writing, jogging, Nordic walking, skiing (Alpine & cross-country) and travel.
American-German Business Club in Frankfurt; and chair of the Rhein-Main for Obama group meeting here. Exciting times! - Favourite places:
Hong Kong for its food and excitement:
New York City for its electric atmosphere;
Chicago as its a Great City and my hometown;
San Fran for its hills, and near-by Yosemite NP;
Yellowstone NP for its bison, vistas and Old Faithful Inn!
Japan for its style and class evident everywhere;
The Rhein Valley and Rheingau wine region;
Zermatt for its car-free status and great skiing;
Norway for its fjords and outdoor lifestyle, fishing;
Goslar in the Harz Mts. for its beautiful Christmas market.
