Saint-Pierre (Martinique)

Introduction

Saint-Pierre is a community of about 5,000 people in on the island of Martinique. The settlement was wiped out in 1902 by the volcano Mount Pelée.

Sights and Activities

• Volcano Museum, (Musée Vulcanologique)
• Scuba dive at wrecks in the harbor. During the 1902 volcanic eruption, all but one of the ships in the harbor sunk, leaving many wrecks as dive sites.
