Checked out of the hotel in Paros and stored my backpack at the hotel. My ferry to Milos leaves at 6:25 pm. iTook a walk and explored Frankish Castle, but there is no real castle just a picturesque neighbourhood named “kastro” (meaning castle) where there are some walls and remains of a tower that used to be part of the castle.
Met up with Effie and Theo for lunch, they checked out of their hotel and was catching a flight to Athens around 6:30 pm. After lunch we walked around the shops and sat on the beach for a bit.
A wooden bike
Turns out my ferry is delayed by 1 hour. Loading ferries in Greece is just mayhem! People and cars load all at the same time, it is just crazy!
Walked from the Port to my hotel, took about 15 minutes. Checked in then headed off to rent a car.

Grabbed a small snack at the bakery and some fruit from the market. Walked around the port for about an hour before I headed out to Klima. Klima Village has less than 20 permanent residents. It is one of the smallest settlements on the island. Klima was a significantly developed place and a commercial center in the day. Even though the old settlement of Klima was eventually abandoned, ancient remnants can still be found in the area.
Lots of Milos coast line is not accessible by rental car, so I booked a half day boat trip with Delfina Milos Boat Tours. Headed down to Kipos to catch the boat. There were sea caves, with steep rock formations, and the clearest water I have ever seen!
First stop, Gerontas beach. We swam for about half hour in the warm waters.
Second stop, Klefiko Bay. Here was stopped for a little over an hour.
Dinner at O! Halos! Tavern, came highly recommended by Effie and Theo. Greek salad and Parma tomato pasta!

Today is beach day! Headed to Palaiochora beach first. Paleochori Beach is located on the south side of the island. Its origin is volcanic, the red and yellow colours and the rock formations are very visible.
Apparently the crystal-clear waters seem to change colour depending on the time of the day and warm bubbles can be seen emerging, explained by the amount of sulfur in the soil. The sand is also known to get pretty hot. I did not see any of this happening as I didn’t stay long enough.
Fyropotamos beach was my next stop. I didn’t make it to the beach because the road down was very sketchy! I did walk around the area.
Sarakiniko beach has a lunar landscape, also called Moon beach, and makes it different from every other shore in Greece, smooth white rocks with plenty of horizontal layering. The beach was mostly formed by fossil layering and some volcanic eruptions.
Final stop is Pollonia. Pollonia is a picturesque fishing village on the northeast tip of Milos. Had a wonderful lunch and spent the rest of the day at the beach.
I walked around the Port for the evening.
This very friendly gentleman was trying to get me to eat dinner at his seaside restaurant! He was very nice….I had to ask him to stop looking at me and look at the camera for the pic.
