AUSTRIA
It's a beautiful country. Our first stop was Hallstatt which is a village in the Salzkammergut region. The Hallstatter See(a lake) was so serene with an amazing view. Some parts do look touristy with museums and hotels but oddly, it was't crowded during our visit. Lunch at the Gruner Baum Lakeside Hotel was excellent. According to the menu, they serve Austrian specialties from the region.
A popular tourist attraction is the Mirabell Gardens where the movie "The Sound of Music" was shot. The Makartsteg bridge over the Salzach River was interesting with a massive collection of "love locks". Next, Salzburg where Mozart was born. The building is called "Hagenauerhaus" located in Getreidegasse (Grain Lane), a busy shopping street. There are many stalls ranging from food to souvenirs. Definitely a tourist spot.
Finally, Hundertwasserhaus, Vienna is quite unique. It's an expressionist landmark. Very artistic if you asked me. It's an apartment house based on the concept of Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser built during the 80's. Useful subject for budding artists.
