Sunday morning and church isn’t until 11:00 so a very peaceful day. We had breakfast and I called The White Swan for a lunch reservation . . their Sunday Roast. We can walk down after church. The Sunday Roast is quickly becoming a family tradition.

After church we walked slowly down the hill and found an art exhibit at the Memorial Hall. It was a local group, all media and all abilities but there were some really marvelous works that we enjoyed. Then we had to hurry to get to The White Swan by half-twelve. Arrived just in time and were seated. We ordered the Sunday Roast. Ed got beef and I got lamb. Both were delicious. There was also a vegetable plate with carrots, cabbage and bacon and, to my delight, cauliflower in a nice cheese sauce. Ed got an apricot and fig tart for dessert and I had the chocolate Nemesis, an authentic fondant au chocolat with blackberry frozen yogurt. Really nice Sunday Roast . . . great tradition. We walked back across the bridge to the Beck Isle Museum, paid and entered. They have a bit of everything including entire rooms and historic shop interiors. The outside features antique farm equipment which brought back wonderful memories of my paternal grandfather’s farm and my maternal grandfather taking me to farm equipment fairs in the country when I was very small. We whiled away our afternoon and left for Lidl Supermarket to get bread and laundry soap. Arrived just as they closed so trudged back up the hill to Co-op which was still open. Saved . . . We’re in for the evening and have escaped rain all day! Our beautiful cottage is warm and welcoming and we both have good books to read.
