Jerusalem Avenue, Warsaw
My wife and I were privileged to pay another visit to Warsaw. This time it was thanks to the IOM that operates in Siedlce and in whose project I am taking part. We were invited to a meeting with other participants of the project, who are staying in Warsaw. The meeting took place over dinner at a nice hotel in downtown Warsaw.

We had some time before the start of the meeting. The streets looked very attracting at night, I managed to take a couple of pictures. We went window shopping at the Golden Terraces, a well-known shopping mall, which we had intended to visit for a long time, but each time had been in a hurry to see some amazing sights in the Old City.
As it turns out, the Golden Terraces (“Złote Tarasy” in Polish) house not only a shopping mall, but also office spaces and a hotel. This mega mall is known all over Poland for its ultramodern wavy glass ceiling that accentuates the cosy lighting and the space style.

We were impressed by the hanging figures consisting of beautiful lights. We passed the 8-screen multiplex movie theatre. Here and there you can see restaurants and cafes, whose total number is said to be over 200, making it a great day out for the family.

Many of our Ukrainian acquaintances staying in Siedlce believe that due to beautiful illuminations Warsaw is even nicer at night than at daytime. We have visited Warsaw at daytime before, and it was a lot of fun visiting the city at night. In winter time it gets dark early, therefore, when we arrived to Warsaw (4 p.m.) it was already dark outside.

We walked along Jerusalem Avenue and, thanks to Google Maps, turned to Marshalkowska Street. One more street separated us from our meeting point at the hotel. While walking along the evening streets, we saw that there was no problem in finding posh eateries and glamorous nightclubs around, as well as down-at-heel clubs and bars in the evening streets of downtown Warsaw.
We are not much of thrill-seekers and are merely happy to pay a visit to this or that park or square and to explore it.

We came in time to our meeting point - Hotel Mercure Warszawa Grand ****, a part of the Mercure Hotels network, a had some time to explore the hotel lobby. The hotel has a friendly staff, a nice lobby with a homey atmosphere, an art exhibition of students’ works in the lobby, a stylish décor and a Christmas Tree. I also saw a wine shop and a company wine bottle.
