It’s Sunday so no rush... got up late ad headed into Christchurch proper. Thought we should see the city as we are here. Opted for the tram ride tour, hop on hop off around the city centre. The drivers are very informative and amusing so it was good fun learning about the city and of course interesting about the devasting earthquake back in February (!) 2011 that killed 185 people. The city still shows much devastation with many buildings propped up, the cathedral still smashed and cordoned off and much building going on. Though not at a quick enough pace according to our drivers.

Later in the day it was time to say goodbye to Suzi, big sad face........ we started out together, clean and sparkling with 47632 kms on the clock and I leave her dirty, tsk tsk, with 52237 some 4605 kms later (2879 miles)....... she’s run true and smooth and I’ve loved the journey. The previous owner had fitted a lesser toothed sprocket for torque as opposed to top end and my oh my that was marvellous. The pull in top gear, 6th, was superb,very fast pick up. Bye bye Suzi........

So it’s been a blast. An exceptional holiday. The most fun. Great friends, great roads, many many oh wow’s.... I’ll write a conclusion to this blog on my 12 hour flight to Singapore in the morning .......................
