I am currently looking for regional work in NSW. I have followed many different pages on Facebook where job offerings are posted. A lot of the jobs seem to be coming from a blog website called Medium.com. Once on that website there is another link to follow which takes you to iBackpacker.

On this website there is a lot of different jobs, but when you try to apply or contact the farm it asks you to pay a $49 fee first. I have read reviews online with people saying they got work through the website and others saying that it is a scam.

Can anyone else shed light on this for me? Has anyone successfully used this website before to find regional work or has been scammed by this in the past. Nearly every job offering on Facebook seems to link back to this website, so I am a but confused whether to trust it or not.

Thanks

Have you looked at wwoofing? They will also charge a membership fee I'm pretty sure, but it's quite a reputable organisation. With wwoofing, it's more a volunteer thing where you work in exchange for board and food. Mind you, their fee is higher than what you are being quoted from iBackpacker.
