Hi, my wife and I are about to head off for a European vacation and are looking for a site to share our travels with friends and family
We are experienced travellers and always looking to see more the world and its cultures.

Cheers

Welcome!

If you need help getting your bearings, I wrote an introduction to the site many years ago which might be helpful (last updated a year ago, so reasonably current). The blogs, map and photos area should be particularly useful for what you want to do, and if you're looking for additional tips on where to go and what to see - or on how to use any parts of the site - the people in the forums here are always happy to help. :)

Enjoy your trip!

Hello. Welcome to TravelersPoint from another retired couple. We love France and have visited nearly every year for the last 30 years. We've gone other places too, but not nearly so often. I highly recommend a visit to France. The country is so large that there is something for everyone there. They have beaches, lakes, oceans, rivers, deserts, mountains, farmland, historic villages, modern architecture, you name it; they have it. I've done blogs on much of this and you could glance through some of them and see what you might enjoy visiting. Here is a list of all my blogs. https://www.travellerspoint.com/my_blogs.cfm

When I first joined TravellersPoint, I created a blog on France and generally how to make your trip easier with information about phones, roads, transportation, car rental and lease, different sights, restaurants, etc. It is not as up to date as it should be but still relevant. You can find that here: https://beausoleilinfrance.travellerspoint.com/toc/

There is one on Paris that covers a lot of tourist information in addition to the blog part and if you check the table of contents, you can pick out what is helpful without going on the trip with us.

I do hope you'll take some time to spend in France because it really is beautiful, interesting and the food and wine are spectacular.

Thank you for the help. I will check out your blog, but we are not heading into France this trip. We have spent time there in the past, but the main stops for us this time are the Iberian peninsula and Croatia. We are spending around 2 of our 3 months in those locales.

I hope you will share some of your photos and experiences in Spain and Croatia with us here.

Here you go, Rastoke from an earlier trip. A small hidden gem in Croatia.

From your map I see you're heading to Cordoba. That's still on my list, but from personal experience in that neighbourhood, I can strongly recommend visits to Ronda, Cadiz and Sevilla as well.

Here's Ronda:

yes we intend getting to Granada, Seville and Cadiz. I’m not sure if we can manage Ronda as well, but we would certainly like to.
