We will be doing a Mediterranean cruise in October and one of the ports we will be visiting is Barcelona,is it expensive to get from the port to our accommodation in the city. Also is it expensive overall .
Getting from Barcelona port to city centre
As always: ask Google
https://www.bettertaxi.com/taxi-fare-calculator/barcelona/
If you haven't got too much baggage there's a shuttle bus linking to city bus routes and a Metro option:
https://www.tmb.cat/en/visit-barcelona/public-transport/from-port
There are also, of course, private transfer options. Just google 'barcelona cruise port private transfer'.

Since the cruise ship probably has been to this port stop before - wouldn't they have information for you?
- I found Barcelona a nice place to visit and not that expensive compared to London and Paris.

What about getting to the airport do the buses go out to there .

Of course buses go to Barcelona El Prat airport. So do the Metro and local train. There's a free shuttle between terminals.
Info in English on the official airport site (scroll down the page a bit):

'Barcelona' Reus airport is much further away (almost 70 miles). You'll need private transfer, taxi or airport bus.
